Barcode

All the people who live in the city where Harrison Bergeron lived were all handicapped or had some complexity that made them equal to each other. However they were all different because they were all handicapped for different purposes. Some people were too intelligent for the average human or some were too strong. Like the different handicaps that are used for different purposes, the barcode that is used in this photograph is used to show the difference in that people even though we are all the same, humans.

I think that the barcode is placed on the neck instead of some where else is because everyone’s necks are the same except for maybe the size and the colour of the persons skin. If the photographer had placed the barcode on a face or hand, it would have been different because the face and hands are different for everyone. I think that the photographer has used this to state that even though we are all the same we are unique and have our own personal individuality like a barcode is different from one another.
